Is your stomach hungry or is your brain?

When we are hungry, we eat food and simple, right? But what are the reasons that make us hungry?. An average man living in the developed world eat up to 4 times more than he needs to live. We teach you to know if you're quenching your stomach, or otherwise is your brain that takes you to the fridge.

Hungry stomach: Your symptoms are severe pain in stomach, frequent bowel sounds, physically need food. The more time you spend without eating more belly pain increases as the sounds. It also depends on factors such as the hypothalamus, your blood sugar levels, hormone levels, and how is your stomach empty. Common are fatigue, cranky, headaches or difficulty concentrating. If you have these symptoms, your stomach is hungry!

Mental hunger: hunger Unlike the stomach, the other is caused by emotions such as stress, depression, boredom, sometimes even by joy. It's not that your body is hungry, just tend to eat more than normal because you do not know when to stop. Usually abuse is often a particular food, arguably the best known of all is the chocolate. The key is to recognize the two types of hunger and learn to stop in time.

Thanks to our brain, high-fat foods or sweets make us secrete chemicals called opioids in our bloodstream and it is these chemicals that cause us a state of semi-euphoria and encourage us to continue eating. Mental hunger is often temporary, can give us a hunger strike, wait a while without eating and hunger magically disappears, that is our brain.

One way to detect if you really think you're hungry is a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 die of hunger and 10 being at the top of food. You should eat when you arrive at the imaginary level 3 or 4, not when you're at 1 or 2, as atiborrarte run the risk of food. Once you reach level 5 or 6 of this scale should stop eating so as not to be too full and feel uncomfortable.

To combat hunger cerebral drinking water usually works, is very common brain confuse hunger with thirst.

Do you know why they recommend eating slowly and chewing well? In addition to better digest food, is because the stomach takes 20 minutes to send the signal to the brain, so if we eat fast, it's very possible that we are overdoing it. We always recommend to do 5 meals a day better than 3, with smaller portions and spread speed up metabolism and get control over hunger.
