Gear up for the two-day, 150+-mile Bike MS: Sam's Club 2012 Frisco to Texas Motor Speedway Ride rolling out May 5-6. Meets on the first Wednesday of the month

The Better Breather Club meets 1-3 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month in the conference room of the Bloxom Tower at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. Call 817-882-3972.

A free support group and class for nursing moms meets 12:30-1:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month, excluding holidays, in the second-floor lobby at Arlington Memorial Hospital, 800 W. Meets on the first Thursday of the month

The Support Education Advocacy group, for families or caregivers of children with conditions such as ADD/ADHD, Asperger's, depression or schizophrenia, meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at Tarrant Mental Health/Mental Retardation FAIR east clinic, 801 Road to Six Flags, Suite 132, Arlington. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B offers a support group for parents who have lost children through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. SHARE (Source of Help in Airing and Resolving Experiences) meets at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month in the Pastoral Care Office, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford. A support group for those with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease) and their friends and families meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4300 W. Safe Kids Tarrant County, led by Cook Children's Medical Center, offers weekly car-seat checks at its fitting stations. Each car seat check takes approximately 30 minutes and the child using the seat must be present, unless parents are expecting. Call 682-885-2634 to schedule an appointment.

Car seat checks are provided by Texas Health Harris Methodist hospitals at inspection stations on the campuses of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth. Certified child-passenger safety technicians will show parents how to correctly install the car seat, provide safety tips and check to see if the car seat has ever been recalled. Inspection stations are rotated among the hospitals on Tuesdays. Times vary. Call 888-4-HARRIS to schedule an appointment.

The Texas Teratogen Information Service provides pregnant women with free information on having a healthy baby by reducing the risk of birth defects. The service is funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services (formerly Texas Department of Health) and located at the University of North Texas in Denton. Call 800-733-4727.

Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step program for addiction to drugs and alcohol and for eating disorders, meets 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays in worship center Room 202 at the Church on Rush Creek, 2300 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Call 817-468-7729.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B Hospital offers the following classes. The first two meet at 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford.

-- Parenting, for new parents as well as experienced ones, on the basics of newborn care. It is offered as either a four-week series (one 2 1/2-hour class each week) or a weekend (Friday night and Saturday). Cost is $45. Call 888-4HARRIS or visit www.texas8health.org.

-- Sibling class, to help children develop positive feelings toward a baby, interact with the baby in a safe and positive manner and be prepared for the separation from mom during the birth and postpartum hospital stay. -- Swimming lessons, for ages 2 to adult, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B. Hospital. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, 251 Westpark Way, Euless. There are six 30-minute lessons (three weeks). The cost is $75; there is a maximum of five students per instructor. Emotions Anonymous, a 12-step program, meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Smithfield United Methodist Church, 6701 Smithfield Road, North Richland Hills. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth offers a variety of public-education classes for respiratory and breathing health, including pulmonary education, breathing exercises and smoking intervention. Call 817-882-3972.

Dialogue, a support group designed to help patients and their families and friends better understand and cope with cancer, meets 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays in the pastoral-care office, second floor, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford. Call 817-685-4811.

John Peter Smith Hospital offers classes on hypertension, childbirth, breast-feeding, osteoporosis, asthma and diabetes. Classes in Spanish are available on diabetes and childbirth. Call 817-920-7300 for further information.

Moms in Motion water aerobics classes for expecting mothers are offered by Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, Mondays and Thursdays in the Harris Fitness Center, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Mental Health Association of Tarrant County is an information and referral clearinghouse for all mental health resources in Tarrant County.
