Health and fitness agenda: Arab Health Expo

Coming up, tens of thousands of visitors will head to Dubai's Arab Health Expo, while winter sports fans test the latest gear at Denver's SIA Snow Show.

Now in its 37th year, Arab Health Expo is an international business networking event among healthcare, medical, and science professionals held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The event is expected to draw more than more than 71,000 visitors from 60 countries, including pavilions for Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The event is unique in its focus on drawing an international community to Dubai's fast-growing health market, with more than 30 percent of last year's exhibitors and attendees from outside the Gulf States.

40th Ski Industries of America (SIA) Snow Show
January 27-30
Denver, Colorado

The SIA Snow Show, January 27-30, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, is the largest, most concentrated trade event in the snow sports industry, attracting more than 20,000 industry professionals and unveiling new products and gear. More than 1,000 brands will be on display, representing an industry that is $3 billion strong. After the show, attendees will head up to the mountains for the On-Snow Demo/Free Ride Fest at Winter Park Resort and Devil's Thumb Ranch, where members of the industry will get together to demo the gear they've just seen at the show.

1st Health 2.0 India

For the first year, the San Francisco Health 2.0 event heads to New Delhi to showcase cutting-edge innovation of “user-generated” health technology. The event will feature interactive discussions covering the topics of social networks, health promotion, cloud computing, and system integration. For the third year Health 2.0 is also setting up in Europe in Berlin (November 6-7) to showcase European web and mobile-based technologies, and the San Francisco main event takes place October 7-10. Similar events around the globe include Med-e-Tel, TechCrunch Disrupt, and eTELEMED.

72nd ISPO

ISPO is one of the biggest events in the world for sports goods manufacturers and suppliers. Over 2,000 exhibitors are participating in 2012, and the event is expected to draw more than 80,000 visitors from over 100 countries. ISPO will focus on eco-friendly products with a special section called Eco Village. An interdisciplinary segment called Freeriding will be organized for products dealing with snow sports. A sister event happens in Beijing, February 22-25.

23rd BioFach & 6th Vivaness

BioFach is the oldest and largest trade fair dedicated to organic products, and in 2012 it continues to extend from food products into holistic health and wellness through its partnership with the Vivaness event. The event is larger in scope and size other comparable European organic and natural ingredients trade fairs, such as the Food Ingredients Europe and Natural Ingredients Expo, held in November in France. BioFach and Vivaness expect to attract some 45,000 visitors in an exhibition space of 89,000 m2. The event has a global presence with events in Shanghai, Sao Paolo, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Baltimore. 27th GSMA Mobile World Congress

GSMA Mobile World Congress, a four-day event dedicated to cutting-edge mobile technology, will feature a GSMA Mobile Health program, focusing on remote monitoring, wellness, and assisted living technologies. A full program of conferences, keynotes, and panel discussions runs alongside an exhibition of the hottest new products and concept designs from the top mobile companies in the field. More than 60,000 industry members from 200 countries are expected in 2012. Tickets range from €4,999 for a platinum executive pass to €699 for an exhibitor pass. A standard gold pass, allowing access to all exhibitions, conferences, and networking opportunities, is priced at €2,699.
